The Advantage Program is an invitation-only joint initiative of RHT Education, Jiangsu universities, Jiangsu enterprises and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. Your school has been selected to participate in The Advantage Program together with schools representing Australia , the United States, Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom.
Each student must be nominated by their school and currently enrolled in Years 10 or 11. Students do not require to have any level of Chinese language but they should have an interest in exploring the academic pathways on offer in China. Schools may nominate up to six students.

PROGRAM ITINERARY

  • Students arrive in Nanjing to participate in The Advantage Program.
    After proceeding through Chinese Immigration and Customs, the students were met by RHT Education representatives in the Arrivals Hall. They then were taken to the Fangyuan Jinlin Hotel to check in. After being shown to their room, and, finally, a well-earned sleep and the promise of new adventures the next day.
  • Breakfast first and then the students were given an orientation in the hotel. During this period the students were welcomed, and had the program’s agenda explained in detail. The students also were given advice on how to get the most out of their experience. In the afternoon, the students visited Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (Xianlin Campus) where they were given an introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine. NUCM then gave a guided tour of their campus which concluded with a visit of the medicine specimen room. The students’ day concluded with a welcome dinner at the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (Xianlin Campus).
  • Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunication was the students’ first stop after breakfast on day 3. They then visited NUPT’s Apollon robotics club and watched the robots playing football. In the afternoon, the students visited Sofitel Golf Resort and had a guided tour. They then returned to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (Xianlin Campus) and visited Zhaoyang Hospital (students practice centre). Here they experienced cupping therapy, acupuncture and massage therapy. The evening consisted of a lecture detailing the 'Advantages of Studying in China'. Finally, the floor was opened for questions, and afterwards the students retired for the evening.
  • After breakfast the students visited Jiangsu TCM Hospital, where they experienced the diagnostic methods of TCM. After lunch, the students took a short bus journey to Chaotian Palace, where they wandered arts works market and enjoyed Chinese cultural relics. After dinner, the students attended the 2nd in our guest lecture series in Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (Hanzhongmen Campus) where they learnt about ‘Chinese Culture’. Following a short information session on what will happen the next day, it was off to sleep.
  • In the morning the students awaked to a hearty breakfast and short bus rode to the Nanjing University of the Arts. Following that the students were welcomed to the campus and given a guided tour of NUC’s facilities and NUC’s project work. Ho Hai University was the students’ first stop after lunch and they were greeted with a tour of HHU’s brand new campus and facilities. After dinner, the students went to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (Xianlin Campus) and took part in a workshop and made the Chinese herbs specimen. After the workshop it was back on the bus and a return to the Fangyuan Jinling Hotel.
  • After the breakfast, the students went to Ming Tomb. These contrast perfectly to the natural surroundings and gave a deeper appreciation for Chinese tradition and history. After lunch, the students went on a trip to Nanjing Museum, where they enjoyed the truly superb collection of top quality cultural and artistic treasures. Followed Nanjing Museum, the students went to East Zhonghua Gate Historical Culture Block. It was on to the Confucius Temple Zone in the evening. Here the students toured the ancient temple, enjoyed the beautiful Qinghuai river, and bargained hunt for souvenirs in the bustling shopping promenade.
  • Following a hearty breakfast, the students took a short bus journey to Xuanwu Lake. Here they walked around one of China’s most beautiful lakes. After lunch the journey took a more somber tone as the students visited the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders. Here they learnt about one of the darkest chapters of Chinese modern history. Then the students walked to Nanjing Yunjin Museum. After dinner, the students were treated to a martial art performance in Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine.
  • The Fengsheng health care city is the students’ first stop after breakfast, where the students not only enjoyed western medicine here but also got access to traditional medicine in the experience centre. After lunch, the students headed to Bank of China Jiangning Branch. Then the students visited U-Park, a centre of high-end technology where they visited RHT Education’s headquarters. Then its on to the floor above at a renowned noodle and dumpling restaurant. Here the students were shown how to make and cook Chinese noodles and dumplings and ate the results.
  • The studnets’ morning was a visit to Puzhen Carshop. They learnt the production of rail bearings and vehicle parts. After this the students had a quick lunch then it was on to Yangzhou, two hours North East of Nanjing. After arriving at Yangzhou University (Hehuachi Campus) the students were given a tour of its beautiful campus. Followed Yangzhou University the students visited Dongguan Street. It represents Yangzhou’s history and human landscape and integrates culture, entertainment and business. After this it was a quick dinner and returned to Nanjing.
  • The Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine was the students’ first stop after breakfast. Here the students learnt the eight-section brocade exercise. After lunch, the students attended a lecture about healthy living and they learnt several diet regimens. Then the students listened to RHT Education’s staff who lectured on the value of a career connected to China. Oh yes, there were the awarding of your certificates as well as the announcement of the winners of the photographic competition. After dinner, the students rambled Nanjing Eye Pedestrian Bridge and enjoyed the night scenery of Nanjing.
  • After breakfast the students checked out. RHT Education then took 12 students to Nanjing south railway station and 1 student to Nanjing Lukou Airport.
  • Following Breakfast the students headed to Juyongguan to begin their trek along one of the Wonders of the World The Great Wall of China. After completing their trek along the wall, the bus transported them back to the city centre where they visited The Palace.
  • After breakfast the students departed for the awesome spectacle of the Summer Palace. It has been described by UNESCO as "a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design. After lunch, the students visited the famous Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. From here 24 Ancient emperors ruled over the whole of China for centuries. It is now the site of the most visited art museum in the world and regarded as one of the most important attractions in China. On Tiananmen Square, they saw the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong.
  • After lunch, the students caught the bullet train down to Nanjing. In the evening, they had the free activity time in Xin Jiekou. They then find out their flight information for the next day and went to bed for the last time in China.
  • After breakfast the students experienced movable-type printing technology. After lunch RHT Education then took them back to Nanjing Lukou Airport. Here they caught their flight home, taking with them the knowledge they have acquired, a new insight into China, and, we believe, some fantastic memories.
