Unusual stress relief for students undertaking gaokao

Gaokao, China's yearly National College Entrance Examination, will fall on June 7, 8 and 9. To prepare, students from across the country have a range of unusual ways to relieve stress when studying for the exam, including cash handouts, book tear-ups, oxygen uptakes and students conducting headstands in class. A few examples are listed below:

Students beat a dummy, also known as a pressure reducer, before sitting the entrance examination at the No 4 Middle School of Xuanhua in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, on May 31.

Students at the No 2 Middle School of Hengshui in Hebei province, undertaking the college entrance examination, were offered two new banknotes of five yuan ($0.73) on June 3, 2016.

Students stampede balloons in a playground at the No 1 Middle School of Hefei, Anhui province, to relieve stress before undertaking the gaokao exam on May 31, 2016. A total of 12,000 balloons were popped in less than a minute by 2,200 students.
